The Scholastic Cup is the WIAA’s most prestigious annual school award. The year-long competition recognizes the top school in each of the six WIAA classifications based on academic, athletic and sportsmanship excellence. Points are awarded by a school’s finish in each of the WIAA/Dairy Farmers of Washington/Les Schwab Tires State Championships and Academic State Championships.

1B) Almira Coulee Hartline won State Championships in baseball and softball to help propel the school to its third-consecutive 1B Scholastic Cup. The Warriors’ football and wrestling teams exceled in the classroom, winning Scholastic State Championships in each of those sports. Almira Coulee Hartline has now won four Scholastic Cup Trophies.

2B) Northwest Christian (Colbert) put in the work in the classroom, winning Academic Championships in band, drama, girls soccer and softball. The titles came along with numerous other academic top-10 finishes. This marks the fifth Scholastic Cup for the Crusaders.

1A) King’s earned a third of its 1,235 points thanks to five Academic State Championships from the forensics, orchestra, girls soccer, boys track and field, and girls track and field teams. In WIAA State Championships, King’s earned a second-place finish in girls cross country and third-place finishes in girls track and field and volleyball. It is the 10th Scholastic Cup for King’s, the first since 2015-16.

2A) Sehome captured its fifth-consecutive 2A Scholastic Cup with 1,455 points. The year was powered by WIAA State Championships from the school’s boys cross country team and boys soccer team to go along with a second-place finish in girls soccer and boys tennis. The Mariners picked up Academic State Championships in gymnastics, boys soccer, boys track and field and volleyball while accumulating a number of other top-10 finishes both in athletics and academics.

3A) Lakeside (Seattle) captured its first Scholastic Cup with 1,505 points. The Lions won State Championships in boys soccer and boys tennis while finishing second in volleyball, girls golf and girls swimming and diving. Both the boys and girls wrestling teams finished at the top of the academic rankings as well.

4A) Mead earned a majority of its 1,225 points thanks to its academic endeavors. The Panthers won Academic State Championships in girls cross country, orchestra and boys soccer while also racking up three academic runner-up finishes. The schools top finish in the athletic realm came from the girls golf team which finished second as a team this spring. This is Mead’s seventh Scholastic Cup title.
