Junior Varsity Boys Soccer Head Coach and Assistant Coach
At Northwest we aim to hire coaches who:
a) Have a strong technical and strategic understanding of the game
b) Know how to teach skills, constructively motivate players, and how to build a tight-knit, supportive, and competitively fearless team culture
c) Relate well with players and build rapport
d) Model excellent character and live the high expectations they have for athletes
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach skills and strategies and motivate athletes using a wide range of engaging and constructive methods.
Generate enthusiasm, commitment, and pride among students in the program.
Engage with others – athletes, colleagues, parents, opponents, referees, etc. – with respect and positivity.
Coach with the clear intention and blueprint to develop each athlete as a person and player.
Philosophical alignment with striving to win while promoting the bigger picture of character, commitment, and team supportiveness.
Be self-motivated and growth-minded to develop coaching expertise and effectiveness. Seek out and attend clinics and conferences to develop professional knowledge.
Work as a collaborative member of the soccer program, faculty, and NWS community.
Know and adhere to sport rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Expertise and experience coaching the sport at the high school or collegiate level.
Current training in First Aid, CPR, concussion management, and sudden cardiac arrest.
Clear Washington State Background check.
Compensation/Details: Competitive coaching stipends, based on experience.
This is a stipend only position. Season starts February 26th and ends late April.
Availability: Monday-Friday, possibly a couple of Saturdays.
