FACILITY & LODGING INFORMATION
Gateway Sports Complex 405 Fair Ave Yakima, WA 98901

Gateway Sports Complex at Kiwanis Park is located about three blocks north of the SunDome on Fair Ave. From the north on I-82, take exit 33 A and at the light turn left onto Fair Ave, proceed to Maple Street and turn left to Kiwanis Park. From the south on I-82 take exit 34, turn left onto Nob Hill Blvd, turn right at Fair Ave (second light), and continue on Fair Ave (through the light), and turn right on Maple St.
A full service concession stand is available. Pets are not permitted. Limited room for lawn chairs on all fields. Grass areas are available for picnics. Handicapped spectators can ask for assistance at the ticket gate if all handicapped slots are full.
NO CHARGE FOR PARKING RV vehicles may be parked on the western edge of the parking lot. Please stay on the blacktop. Check the Yakima website for overnight RV Parks. TICKET PRICES WIAA State Tournament tickets are be available for purchase online through GoFan HERE. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online in advance of the event, but will have the ability to purchase digital tickets onsite by accessing the GoFan digital ticketing site using their mobile devices. SERVICE FEES APPLY. Valid ASB card required for student price. Entry will open one hour prior to the first game each day. WIAA TOURNAMENT CREDENTIALS All spectators using an approved pass must enter through the pass gate. This includes school supervisors, school photoraphers and WIAA guests. Anyone attempting to enter with a fraudulent pass will be denied entry and may be subject to trespass. Anyone with a fraudulent pass will be removed.
SUPERVISORS The school principal will appoint at least one school personnel member to supervise the school’s student body rooting section.
SPORTSMANSHIP All participants as well as spectators are expected to demonstrate sportsmanship and respect toward opponents and tournament officials at all times. Sportsmanship medals may be awarded after each race. Spectators who demonstrate inappropriate conduct or actions may be removed from the facility. WIAA state events are meant to provide a safe environment where everyone feels respected. Tournament managers and WIAA event personnel have the authority to remove individuals for inappropriate behavior or comments. BALLOONS, SILLY STRING, AND ARTIFICIAL NOISEMAKERS are prohibited and will be confiscated. Band instruments are to be used only for playing music under the direction of the conductor and cheerleaders only may use megaphones. CHEERS Only school district accepted cheers may be used at appropriate times. Cheers and chants are to be directed only toward the school’s team. Cheers or yells with degrading opponent implications and profanity will not be allowed. CLEAN-UP If outside paraphernalia is brought into the facility, schools may be billed for any additional clean-up costs. DRONES/"UAV" POLICY The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (“UAV”), also known as drones, is prohibited for any purpose by any persons at WIAA tournament venues. Tournament management shall refuse admission or entry to anyone attempting to use a UAV; and if necessary, tournament management shall remove anyone attempting to use a UAV and/or confiscate the UAV until the event has been completed. For purposes of this policy, a UAV is any aircraft without a human pilot aboard the device.
FACE PAINTING Face painting may be allowed depending upon local school district policies and the tournament site/facility.
MASCOTS Only a student costumed mascot, designated by the principal, is permissible.
SIGNS Tournament sponsors, broadcast media coverage, official school banners and hand held signs that are positive and directed only toward the school’s team are permitted. Run through signs are not permitted.
STANDING POLICY Standing for prolonged lengths of time may be permissible at WIAA-sponsored athletic events, depending upon the tournament site/facility.
STREAMING It is the goal of the WIAA to stream all games on all fields via the NFHS network. Schools and fans are prohibited from streaming or recording of any kind. Any such action is in direct violation of the WIAA/NFHS media rights and will not be allowed.
Team and action photography will be available from Northwest Sports Photography and State Tournament merchandise and apparel will be on sale throughout the tournament and online through Rush Team Apparel.
